Post-Trade Review: A Simple Daily Routine
Ten honest minutes after the close beat an hour of scrolling charts.
A post-trade review is a short, repeatable look at what you did and why, done while the session is fresh. The routine below takes about ten minutes: review each trade, close out the day, and write one takeaway for tomorrow.
The routine
- Review each trade. Was the setup valid, the size planned, the stop respected?
- Rate your state. Were you calm, rushed or chasing? Emotional state drives more bad trades than analysis does.
- Close the day. Compare the day to your plan and note what you learned.
- Write one takeaway. One sentence you can read before tomorrow's open.
How Toreda structures it
Toreda's Journal has a start-of-day check-in and an end-of-day review, and each trade can be scored from your Trades page on setup, execution, risk, emotional state and process. Penalties for a revenge trade, a moved stop, an oversized position or an unplanned trade are explicit, so rule breaks show up in the numbers instead of in your memory.
The AI Daily Recap reads your trades and journal answers for a day and returns a structured end-of-day review with a focus for tomorrow. It is a second opinion on your own data, not a prediction of anything.
Keep it short enough to repeat
The review that happens every day beats the thorough one that happens twice. If a step feels heavy, cut it. See Discipline Before Analysis for why consistent logging is the habit that matters most.

Frequently asked questions
- When should I do my post-trade review?
- Right after the session, while you still remember what you were thinking. Waiting until the next day weakens the notes.
- What does the AI Daily Recap do?
- It reads a day's trades and journal answers and returns a structured end-of-day review with a focus for tomorrow. It reflects on your own data and does not predict results.
- Do I need to review every trade?
- Aim for every trade. If volume is high, review the biggest losers, the biggest winners and any trade that felt wrong.
