Trading playbooks you actually score against
Write down your setups. Score every trade against them. See which ones pay and whether following them does.

A playbook is one setup, written down: what has to be true before you enter, how you get out, how much you risk, and a short checklist you tick before you click. Toreda ties each playbook to your trade scores, so a playbook is more than a note. It tracks how often you trade the setup, how it performs, and how closely you stick to it.
What's in a playbook
- Name and summary: what the setup is, in a line or two.
- Market and timeframe: for example Futures on the 1-minute chart.
- Entry criteria: the conditions that have to line up before you take the trade.
- Exit criteria: your target and how you manage the trade out.
- Risk rules: your risk per trade, such as 1R or a dollar amount.
- Checklist: short yes-or-no items you tick when you score the trade. This is the part scoring reads.
- Notes: anything else, with Markdown support.
Give each playbook a color so you can spot it across your journal. Duplicate a playbook to try a variation, and archive the ones you no longer trade without losing their history.
Score your trades against it
When you score a trade, pick the playbook it belongs to and tick the checklist items you actually followed. The share you ticked answers the "Did you follow your pre-trade checklist?" question in your trade score for you: 90% or more counts as fully completed, 70% as most items, 50% as some skipped, and less than that as skipped.
Scoring a batch of similar trades? Bulk Score applies one playbook and its checklist to every trade in the batch.
Add a checklist
Entry criteria, exit criteria and risk rules are your reference. The checklist is what Toreda measures. A playbook without one still counts trades and win rate, but it cannot show adherence.
See what each setup earns
Your Playbooks page lists every setup with its trade count and win rate, sorted by the ones you use most. Open a playbook's Analytics tab to see:
- Trades, win rate and average score for that setup. Win rate appears once a playbook has 5 trades.
- Average adherence: how much of the checklist you followed, on average.
- Win rate by adherence: your trades split into 80% or more, 50 to 79%, and under 50% of the checklist followed, each with its own win rate once it has 3 trades.
- Recent trades scored against the playbook, with their score, adherence and P&L.
The adherence split answers the question a playbook exists for: when you follow your plan, do you do better than when you cut corners? It is your own data, so the answer is yours too, and the split only fills in once you have scored trades at different levels of adherence.
Ask Eda about your playbooks
Eda, the AI assistant in Toreda, reads your playbooks alongside your trades and scores. Ask which playbooks you have and how they are doing, or ask Eda to assign a playbook to trades you have already scored. Eda shows you the change first and only writes it after you confirm.
Tips for playbooks that work
- Make one playbook per setup, not one per market. Two setups in one playbook blur both win rates.
- Keep the checklist to 2 to 5 items you can answer yes or no while the trade is live. See how to write a trading rules checklist.
- Score trades the same day so the checklist reflects what you actually did, not what you remember.
- Duplicate a playbook when you change a rule, so the old and new versions keep separate stats.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a trading playbook?
- A written description of one setup: when you enter, how you exit, how much you risk, and a short checklist you follow before taking the trade. It turns a setup you trade by feel into one you can measure.
- How do playbooks affect my trade score?
- When you score a trade against a playbook, the share of its checklist you ticked answers the "Did you follow your pre-trade checklist?" question, part of the Process Compliance category. 90% or more counts as fully completed, 70% as most items, 50% as some skipped, and less as skipped.
- Why does my playbook show no adherence?
- Adherence comes from the checklist. Add checklist items to the playbook, then tick them when you score trades. Each adherence band shows a win rate once it has 3 trades.
- Can I score many trades against a playbook at once?
- Yes. Bulk Score applies one playbook and its checklist to every trade in the batch.
- Are playbooks included in every plan?
- Yes. Playbooks are available on every Toreda plan.
